Billions of people will turn to Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup from November 21 – December 19, with the Socceroos making their fifth-straight appearance in the tournament.
Australia is eight hours ahead of Qatar’s time zone (Arabia Standard Time or AST), so football fans will be spending their work days rubbing sleep out of their eyes as they adjust to the 64-game fixture.
Fortunately the scheduling has been reasonably kind to Socceroos fans, with a 2am wake-up for the Denmark game balanced out by 6am and 9pm kickoff times against France and Tunisia respectively.

How to watch
SBS and their streaming service SBS On Demand will broadcast all 64 matches exclusively free-to-air to Aussie fans, with eight live games shown simultaneously on SBS Viceland.
The broadcaster’s commentary team for the World Cup will be led by the ‘voice of football’ Martin Tyler, with Richard Bayliss, David Basheer, Matt Connellan and Niav Owens all calling the action from Qatar.
The World Cup in Qatar is taking place from November 21 to December 19, and all the games will be broadcast free on SBS for Aussies
Presenters include Socceroos legends Mark Bosnich and Craig Foster, plus ex-Matildas star Sarah Walsh, who is also the current women’s chief at Football Australia.
