Brazil confirm their 26-man squad for the Qatar World Cup including TWELVE Premier League stars… but Selecao boss Tite finds no room for Roberto Firmino or Gabriel Magalhaes

Brazil have confirmed their 26-man squad for the Qatar World Cup and it includes a plethora of Premier League stars.

Selecao coach Tite named his squad on Monday night and there were notable omissions for Premier League trio Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Magalhaes. 

However, PSG star Neymar is part of the squad and will be looking to make history in Qatar by becoming the nation’s top goalscorer of all-time.

BRAZIL WORLD CUP SQUAD 

Goalkeepers: Alisson, Ederson, Weverton

Defenders: Dani Alves, Danilo, Alex Sandro, Alex Telles, Bremer, Eder Militao, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva 

Midfielders: Bruno Guimaraes, Casemiro, Everton Ribeiro, Fabinho, Fred, Lucas Paqueta

Attackers: Antony, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Neymar, Pedro, Raphinha, Richarlison, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr 

Arsenal duo Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli, Chelsea‘s Thiago Silva, Manchester United‘s Casemiro, Fred and Antony, Liverpool‘s Fabinho and Spurs’ Richarlison are just a few of the talents flying over from England.

West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes are both part of the squad having excelled in their next teams this year.

Premier League goalkeeping duo Alisson and Ederson both make the squad and are joined by Palmeiras shot-stopper Weverton.

39-year-old football veteran Dani Alves makes the squad as he continues to ply his trade for Mexican side PUMAS.

Real Madrid and Barcelona wingers Vincius Jr and Raphinha are also part of the Selecao team for Qatar after impressing in LaLiga this season. 

Manchester United winger Antony shared the heartwarming moment that he – and his family – found out that he’d been included in the squad.

The former Ajax star shared a video on social media sat with his family – all dressed in Manchester United tops though Antony is in a Brazil shirt – awaiting the announcement.

When his name is read out, his family burst into celebration and hug. The United No. 21 has a strong embrace and becomes emotional as he comes to terms he’ll be featuring in his first World Cup.

Newcatle star Bruno Guimaraes had a similar reaction which was also shared onto social media. 

The former Lyon midfielder is sat and dressed in Brazil shirts with his family as he awaits his name to be read out. 

When it is, the Magpies midfielder rejoices – with his new-born son in his arms – at the news he’ll be heading to Qatar.

Tite’s squad are one of the first major nations to announce their squad with the World Cup less than two weeks away.

They kick-off their campaign in Qatar against Serbia on the 24th of November before later facing Switzerland and Cameroon.

The Selecao will be hoping they can go further than their quarter-final exit from Russia 2018 after losing 2-1 to Belgium.
