It’s not even the middle of January and people are already giving up on resolutions, especially around healthy eating! Nutrition Coach Nicole Darabi joined us to share why this happens and what we can do to give us the best chance at success.
Nicole says don’t make too many changes at once, instead focus on one thing until it becomes a habit. Drop the “perfectionist mindset”. She says many of us fall victim to all-or-nothing thinking around healthy eating, so that when we perceive that we’ve “failed” we give up.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, especially with meal planning, focus on the meal that is hardest to stay consistent with and prep that first.
Lastly, look for a community. Research shows people are about 30% more likely to stick with health habits when they have accountability and support.
