SAN JOSE, Calif. — One person was killed and three were injured early Friday after a shooting just south of downtown San Jose, police said.
Officers responded about 3:43 a.m. to multiple reports of shots fired inside an after-hours business in the 800 block of South First Street, police said.
Three of the four victims were men, police said. One man subsequently died and became the city’s 26th homicide of 2025.

The fourth victim, a woman, arrived at a hospital suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said in a press release.
The two remaining men and the woman were expected to survive, police said.
A suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The motive and circumstances surrounding the event were under investigation.
