A public meeting will be held Dec. 2 to gather public input on proposed electric rate changes from Pacific Power & Light Company.
Portland-based PacifiCorp is owned by Berkshire Hathaway Energy and provides electric service to over 137,000 customers in Southcentral and Southeastern Washington, including Sunnyside, Yakima, Walla Walla, as well as Pendleton, Oregon.
According to documents filed with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission in April to update the company’s electric services, revenues could increase around $33.9 million, or 7.9%. An average residential household using 1,200 kilowatt-hours a month would see a $10.43 bill increase.
If approved, the updated rates would take effect Jan. 1.
A public comment hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 2 via Zoom: utc-wa-gov.zoom.us/j/83945006208?pwd=faGGAb6xKeGiu9fzNZNkAQX8ND68oC.1#success, or call 253-215-8782 and use meeting ID 839 4500 6208# and passcode 091080#.
