She said that oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice known as “kavala” or “gandusha”. She further elaborated that this technique is helpful for good dental hygiene and helps to detoxify the body.
Talking about this method, she wrote, “My morning ritual of Oil pulling in the company of my sweet-smoosh-doggo Dude! Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice known as “kavala” or “gandusha” , a dental technique that involves swishing little oil in your mouth on an empty stomach for few minutes and then spitting it out . This action is excellent for dental hygiene & health and also draws out toxins in the body. As we are all using this time to take better care of our health and improve our immunity I thought of sharing this. Hopefully, it will be as beneficial to you too.”
How to use the oil-pulling method:
According to Healthline, these are the following methods to use oil-pulling daily.
First, put about 1 tbsp (15 mL) of oil in your mouth and swish it around your mouth for about 15–20 minutes. Spit it out and brush your teeth.
Oil pulling may reduce bacteria in your mouth, improve overall oral and dental hygiene. However, it cannot whiten your teeth as no studies have confirmed it yet.
