Brisbane Broncos $27m Red Hill training centre under threat as huge fire erupts

A fire has broken out right next to the Brisbane Broncos’ $27million Red Hill training base on Thursday after an alleged stolen car, which was parked in a neighbouring car park, burst into flames.

Broncos players have been slowly returning to the footy club for pre-season training in recent weeks, but it is understood that none of the team were at the training ground when the blaze broke out.

The Courier Mail reports that staff members at the club were shocked when they saw smoke rising from a car park that is situated next to the Clive Berghofer Centre, which is located on Fulcher Road.

The vehicle is understood to have been parked in an underground car park when it caught alight.

The state-of-the-art Clive Berghofer Centre was officially opened back in 2018 as part of a multi-million-dollar refurbishment.

Some Broncos employees are understood to park their vehicles in the car park and make the 100m walk into work in the mornings.
