Amerikaanse wetenschappers hebben op Antarctica het oudste ijs tot nu toe ontdekt. In het ijs zaten ook luchtbellen, waarmee ook direct de oudste lucht ooit is ontdekt. Het ijs en de lucht zijn zo’n zes miljoen jaar oud.
