Man arrested for burglarizing Spokane Valley business, possession of drugs | Spokane News


SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A man was arrested Friday morning after the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said he burglarized a business and had meth on him.

According to the sheriff’s office, Spokane Valley deputies responded to a business in the 5200 block of East Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley shortly after 1 a.m. for a possible burglary in process. They found 31-year-old Brandon M. Ferguson pushing a shopping cart full of items inside a fenced area of the business.

The sheriff’s office said Ferguson initially ran away but eventually stopped without the officers needing to use force. Ferguson said he was homeless, and had gotten in through a gap in the fence and knew he should not be there. According to the sheriff’s office, the officers also found a bag of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Ferguson’s shirt pocket.

The sheriff’s office said Ferguson is a convicted felon with a previous second degree burglary charge. Ferguson was booked into the Spokane County Jail for second degree burglary, obstructing and possession of a controlled substance. His bond has been set at $1,000.
