SOLON SPRINGS, Wis. (Northern News Now) – Months after a damaging fire at a Solon Springs restaurant, the owners have been arrested on arson charges.
Steven and Kimberly Kastern appeared on the Douglas County Jail roster Friday evening.

They were booked into the jail Friday morning on several charges, including arson.
The two owned Hog Wild BBQ and Smokehouse, located off Highway 53 in Solon Springs.
The restaurant opened in 2020, but then went up in flames in June of this year.
A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page from June 11 says, “We are saddened to share that a fire occurred at our establishment last night. Thankfully, no one was injured. However, there were extensive damages that will take time to fix. Our establishment will be closed until further notice. We appreciate the community reaching out to us, however with how overwhelming everything is, we just need some time to process and evaluate. We do not have answers as to what is next. Thank you for supporting local businesses.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to the local and surrounding volunteer fire departments and firefighters. Without your quick response things could have been much worse.”
Douglas County Sheriff Matt Izzard confirmed to Northern News Now Friday night that the couple is being charged with arson for the Hog Wild fire.
Izzard says more information will be available Monday after their initial court appearance.
