Wasserman Hires Paramount’s Former Legal Chief

Wasserman has installed former Paramount Global exec Christa D’Alimonte in its C-suite as its chief legal officer.

She will assume the New York City-based post on Oct. 14, and replace Mike Pickles, who is retiring from the global sports, music and entertainment company but will stay on until the end of the year to assist with a transition.

D’Alimonte spent over a decade at Paramount Global and its predecessor, Viacom, most recently as executive vp, general counsel and secretary. Before that, she represented clients across media, entertainment and investment banking at the law firm Shearman & Sterling, including as a partner in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions group.

D’Alimonte will advise senior management on business and legal strategies and regulatory compliance issues and oversee a multi-national network of attorneys for the company.

“Christa brings an immense level of experience and a unique understanding of the global industries in which we operate. We look forward to the leadership and innovation she will bring to the legal team and overall business strategy,” stated CEO Casey Wasserman.

Wasserman also thanked Michaels for his 15 years at the entertainment company. “His commitment and dedication as a leader within the company has been integral in navigating the unprecedented growth of our business,” he added.

Now the responsibility of helping steer strategic growth at Casey Wasserman’s sports and talent representation empire falls to D’Alimonte.

“Throughout my career, I’ve worked with global businesses in the dynamic media and entertainment industries, and I am excited to bring that experience to Wasserman. I look forward to partnering with the legal department and executive leadership team to further enhance Wasserman’s position as a global leader in sports, music and entertainment, and I would like to thank Mike for this help throughout the transition,” she added in her own statement.

As part of a dealmaking spree in recent years, Wasserman has made major buys, including Brillstein Entertainment Partners, as a major player in both the representation and production space.
