A US-based cleric, Rev. Charles Ehanire, has urged Nigerians to pay attention to their health and well-being while celebrating the yuletide season.
Ehanire gave the advice on Saturday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
While extending Christmas greetings to Christians, he said the season goes beyond celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, describing it as a period to embrace love, giving and compassion.
He urged people to be mindful of their lifestyle choices, particularly food and drink, as they gather with family and friends to mark the festive season.
“As we gather with family and friends to celebrate this special occasion, I would like to remind everyone to be mindful of our choices when it comes to food and drink.
“With many festive treats around us, it is important to pay attention to our health and well-being during these indulgent times,” he said.
The cleric emphasised that the true essence of the season lay in joy, generosity and love for one another.
He also encouraged Nigerians to extend kindness to the less privileged and those who might be lonely during the festivities.
Ehanire noted that simple acts of compassion could have a profound impact on the lives of others.
“As we commemorate this blessed event, let us do so with grateful hearts and an abundance of love for one another,” he said.(NAN)
