Jakarta. A wave of energy swept through the Astra Biz Center BSD in Tangerang on Sunday, Nov. 30, as thousands of runners burst into motion at the start of one of the year’s most anticipated running events: the Astra Half Marathon 2025. More than 5,000 participants filled the cool morning air, ready to take on the 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon categories, making this year’s edition one of the most vibrant celebrations of fitness and community.
Carrying the spirit of “Together in Motion,” the 2025 event went far beyond a running competition. It celebrated collaboration, positivity, and a shared commitment to sustainability. The moment was even more meaningful as it coincided with the 12-year journey of Astra Runners, a community that continues to grow unity and environmental awareness through running.
Astra’s Chief of Corporate Affairs, Boy Kelana Soebroto, emphasized that this event represents how collective movement can create a broader impact for society and the environment.
“Astra Half Marathon shows that when we move together, it creates greater meaning. From the running track, we learn that health, togetherness, and care for the environment are inseparable. They are part of a journey we want to continue building with the public toward a more sustainable life for Indonesia today and in the future,” he said.
In line with the “We Run, We Care, We Share” campaign, part of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to support disaster-affected communities in Sumatra. Astra Half Marathon also partnered with Rekosistem to ensure sustainable waste management through integrated sorting and processing systems that directly help reduce carbon footprint.
A Safer, Smoother Route Supported by Strong Medical Facilities
Astra ensured a safer and more comfortable running experience. Astra Runners Captain Beta Setia explained that this year’s route design prioritizes comfort, with enhanced support facilities along key points.
“We designed a more comfortable route this year. There are 12 ambulances across the route and Race Central, 7 mobile medic units, 8 hydration points, 2 fruit stations, 2 sponging stations, and 9 cheering areas. Our medical teams were quick and responsive all the way to the finish line,” he said.
Participant protection was also strengthened through Astra Life as the Official Life Insurance Partner, offering up to Rp 2.5 million in hospital benefits for sports-related injuries and life insurance coverage of Rp25 million for all participants. Health support was bolstered by Asuransi Astra, RS Hermina, Heartology Cardiovascular Hospital, and Halodoc, which provided health screenings to ensure participants were race-ready.
National Athletes and Public Figures Join the Celebration
Positive energy also came from national athlete Agus Prayogo and public figures, including Kelly Tandiono, Marianne Rumantir, Tarra Budiman, and celebrity couple Ibnu Jamil and Ririn Ekawati.
Agus Prayogo, who returned as Astra Half Marathon Brand Ambassador, once again claimed first place in the Half Marathon category.
“This is my third year joining, and thankfully, I secured first place again. The route was clean, the 5 a.m. start and weather were perfect, and the energy from the runners was incredible,” he said.
Participating for the first time, Ibnu Jamil and Ririn Ekawati shared how memorable the experience was.
“It was so exciting—safe, comfortable, and full of great energy. It’s a fun way to motivate everyone to stay active and live healthy,” Ibnu said.
Ririn added that the event’s supporting facilities made all the difference.
“Water stations every two kilometers, plus fruit stations—everything was well prepared. Starting and finishing at Astra Biz Center made the whole experience even more comfortable.”
Bigger Rewards, Bigger Excitement
This year’s event featured a total prize pool of Rp200 million, along with exciting door prizes ranging from smartphones and smartwatches to a Honda ICON e. Cheering areas along the route brought an added spark to the competition, creating an uplifting running atmosphere.
The event culminated in a lively performance by HIVI!, boosting participants’ spirits after crossing the finish line.
