At its Nov. 25 meeting, the Derby City Council took action to approve an agreement with the Derby Recreation Commission to manage and operate Rock River Rapids through 2026 and 2027.
Staff noted changes were minimal compared with the previous agreement, most notably updating language to remove a cap on security costs and adding provisions for instances where the water park may be closed due to drought conditions.
The agreement also included a 4.5% increase in management fees ($143,228 in 2026 and $149,674.04 in 2027), which was the same as the previous agreement.
