Main Street in Danielson is experiencing a remarkable revival, with more than five new businesses opening in the past year. From cozy coffee shops to vibrant florists, the street has become a bustling destination for locals and visitors alike.

The wave of growth is being driven by the collaborative efforts of the Killingly Business Association (KBA) and passionate local entrepreneurs. Gabby Benson, owner of Mountain Laurel Floral Designs and a member of the KBA’s beautification committee, says the revitalization is just beginning. “We work alongside various businesses, and I’m a part of the beautification committee,” said Benson.

“We work with the town and also with the marketing team for the KBA, throwing events and doing different things around the town.” Benson also teased bold ambitions for the area’s future. “We are working really hard to kind of make this town like the dog center of the east side of Connecticut.”

Among the new faces on Main Street is Shannon Webster, owner of The Rustic Sunflower, who recently relocated her business to Danielson.

“From what I understand, all the businesses have moved into town and there’s no more vacancies left, so that’s very exciting,” said Webster. “It seems like it’s very community-based with a lot of support from other businesses.”

That sense of support is echoed by Laura Dunn of Dunn Marketing. “I am a part of the Killingly Business Association, and it’s been wonderful for my business. It has allowed me to create lots of great local business relationships.”

With momentum building, Danielson’s Main Street is poised for a vibrant future.
