La Crescent planning commission recommends permit for cannabis business | News

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) — A cannabis microbusiness is one step closer to opening in La Crescent after receiving a recommendation from the city’s planning commission Tuesday night.

Carbon MN LLC plans to open an indoor cannabis manufacturing facility at 190 Main Street in the city’s industrial wing.

The business would not sell products there, but instead serve as a supplier to local retail businesses.

The planning commission Tuesday recommended that the city grant Carbon a conditional use permit.

Carbon has pre-approval for a cannabis business license through Minnesota’s Office of Cannabis Management. Should the city approve its permit, Carbon will still need final approval from the state.

A representative from Carbon said they hope to open in the new year.
