Health is a priority for Ji Chang-wook.
In fact, one thing he wanted to do right after he landed in Manila was “to sleep.”
And one thing he wanted to do here in Manila “but I couldn’t do” was walking.
The South Korean actor faced the Philippine media earlier today, October 19, 2025, at The Conservatory in The Peninsula Manila, Makati City.
To him, a healthy lifestyle equates to success, and, as translated from South Korean to Filipino, “Success is equal to having sound body and mind.”
The IAM Worldwide endorser seems to lead a no-fuss, no-frills life.
He enjoys biking, so doing his commercial for the brand was easy peasy.
He likes reading, and listens to music while on the set, waiting for his time to be on cam.

When he’s stressed out, his reaction is just like most of us: find a way to escape it or simply face it.
“…Like when you’re mad or desperate, you’ll have those kind of circumstances, right?
“I think it goes the same for everyone as well where sometimes you just with your friends to have a drink or coffee or meal or drink together, or sometimes, I’d rather have my time alone to relieve the stress as well. I think it’s similar with everyone.”
In overcoming challenges, his methodologies are not complicated at all.
He said, “Positive mindset and healthy lifestyle…”

JI CHANG-WOOK ON ACTING PROJECTS
The 38-year-old actor’s first acting project was the film Days… (2006), where he bagged a minor role that jumpstarted his screen debut.
Two years later, the viewers saw his potential in the TV drama You Stole My Heart (also known as You Belong to Me, 2008).
But it was Smile Again (2010–2011), where he played Dong-hae, and Empress Ki (2013) that truly showcased his acting chops.
During the mediacon, one of the questions asked was: “You’ve been in the industry for over ten years, what do you think has been the most important key to staying loved and successful for such a long time?”
He replied: “…we are able to make me sustain or maintain my career for more than ten years, such as like having a mind control and also having a very sound mind and heart and also giving, not really giving up when actually the environment is sensible.
“And also, like, my precious people around me.
“All those factors were part of the reasons why I could maintain for a long career which I have right now.”
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked: Is there a role he would wish to play in the future?
“I actually do have a lot of roles, uh, or genre that I wanna try. I wanna try a very new thing to me and also I wanna try all the things that I’m already good at.
“So personally, though it’s been, you know, some years that I have started my career, but I’m only thinking that this is only the beginning.
“Because every year passes by, I think to myself, like, I’m finding a whole new self.
“So I cannot specifically tell you, like, what kind of genre and what kind of role I wanna try out, but I wanna say that I wanna try out different opportunities for genres that I can try.”
In five years, what goal or dream would he like to achieve?
“It is actually the health and dreams that I wanna achieve. But the health is very abstract, right?
“So to actually elaborate more on that, maybe during the shooting places when I go to the working area, I think the environment could be more lively, uh, to the point that I could feel happy or healthy, you know, in…the shooting places.”
His upcoming series with Disney+ is set for release on November 5, 2025.
It is titled The Manipulated, which, according to him, is “a story about a man who actually got accused falsely, and [was actually][ prisoned.”
