FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) – The Senior Resource Center holds a Senior Lifestyle Expo, connecting seniors and caregivers to local resources.
The free expo is set for 9 a.m.-noon October 23 at the Freeport Eagles Club, 1200 W. Galena Avenue.
More than 50 organizations will be available to answer questions and share information about topics like:
- Medicare coverage
- Assisted and independent living
- Health insurance and financial planning
- Home care and hospice care
- Medical equipment and mobility solutions
- Aging-in-place home improvements
- Physical therapy and long-term care
- Travel, recreation and education opportunities
- Free meals and community programs
Free health screenings will also be available at the event, including vision, hearing, glucose, cholesterol and balance. Anyone with an insurance card can also get a free flu shot.
“The Senior Lifestyle Expo is a wonderful opportunity to discover the many programs and services available in northwest Illinois,” said Amanda Faivre, Executive Director of the Senior Resource Center. “Whether you’re planning for the future or need help today, this event is a great place to start.”
The event is free and no registration is required.
