Pep Guardiola lauds dramatic stoppage-time win over Fulham as ‘one of the best experiences’ his Man City side have EVER had at the Etihad… after Erling Haaland’s 95TH-MINUTE penalty sparked wild celebrations

Pep Guardiola has said that Manchester City‘s 2-1 home win against Fulham is ‘one of the best experiences’ his side have ever had at the Etihad.

Manchester City took the lead early on through summer signing Julian Alvarez but were soon reduced to 10 men after Joao Cancelo was dismissed.

Fulham equalised from the resulting penalty through Andreas Pereira but the inevitable Erling Haaland gave his side all three points with a 95th-minute penalty – sending Guardiola and the Etihad into bedlam.

The Manchester City manager is usually known for his more serene style of coaching from the sidelines but couldn’t contain himself following the win.

The Spaniard was dancing up and down the Etihad pitch following the full-time whistle in a manner usually more associated with the likes of Jose Mourinho or Jurgen Klopp.

Speaking, once slightly calmed down following the game, Guardiola heaped praise on his players for their performance.

Guardiola said: ‘The way we played [the] 65 minutes was amazing, 10 vs 11, at the right tempo, had more chances, more control, the personality’.

‘Everyone played in the right, certain amount of angry and disappointment for many reasons, we were there.’

The City boss continued: ‘It was really, really good – one of the best experiences we’ve ever had here’

Guardiola admitted that his side’s task was made easier by the absence of Fulham’s star man Aleksandar Mitrovic but this won’t impact his celebrations.

Following the win, City have moved to the top of the Premier League table – one point clear of Arsenal who are yet to play this weekend.

Guardiola will be hoping that his side will continue to perform at this level before they break up for the upcoming World Cup.
